山姆 started his career as an R&D chemist formulating polymeric coatings with some of the same additives that he now spends his time detecting and identifying as extractables and leachables. 山姆 has become a knowledgeable expert in the Extractable & Leachable (E&L) industry over the last 9 years working at im体育APP Bend. 山姆 is a resident SME in sample preparations strategies to tackle chromatographically challenging matrices. He has shared some of his findings with the rest of the E&L industry with his "山姆ple Enrichment Approaches for Extractable and Leachable Studies" presentation at Pharma Ed E&L East in 2022.
山姆 has also has a vast array of experience overcoming the multitude of analytical challenges that can present themselves when performing E&L data analysis, such as performing structural elucidation on hundreds of unknown compounds. 山姆 recently presented on overcoming challenges such as these to experts in the filed with his "Overcoming Challenges Associated with E&L 测试 of Flexible Plastic Formulations Used in Medical Devices & Pharmaceutical 包装" presentation given at Smithers E&L USA 2023
